Jose Gonzalez Bisteni

Jose studied Economics and Hispanic Literature at Tecnológico de Monterrey, in Monterrey, Mexico. In that process, he was fortunate enough to come across philosophy and completely fell in love with it. After obtaining his degree in Economics, he came to New Orleans to earn an M.A. in Philosophy from Tulane University, which he completed in May of 2025. At Tulane, he taught Philosophy of Law as an adjunct in the Fall of 2025 and will be teaching Intro to Philosophy at Bard for the Spring 2026 term. Within Philosophy, he mostly asks questions pertaining to the nature of art and beauty, as well as questions pertaining to our understanding of being and knowledge, in general. In the past, he has tried to answer these questions by studying the writings of Martin Heidegger. Recently, he has turned to the study of Plato’s dialogues for the same purposes.
