Admission

Bard Early College New Orleans is a selective program in partnership with New Orleans public schools. Interested students of our partner high schools submit an application and participate in a multi-stepped admissions process. Depending on the program a student is applying to, these steps may include campus visits, one-on-one interviews, teacher recommendations, writing samples and academic audition classes. 

Our academic audition classes, planned and led by BECNO faculty, are designed to give students a chance to participate in a BECNO class as they weigh their academic options for the following year. The BECNO admissions team also considers high school data such as GPA and attendance when making admissions decisions. We seek to admit applicants from a wide range of backgrounds who demonstrate curiosity, responsibility and a love of learning.
