Danneka S. Mitchell, JD, is a native of New Orleans, La and a proud product of New Orleans public schools. After graduating from Edna Karr High School she matriculated to the University of New Orleans. While at UNO, Danneka earned two bachelor’s degrees in Management and Business Administration and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Danneka went on to attend Paul M. Hebert Law School at Louisiana State University where she was an Ernest N. Morial scholar. For the past ten years, Danneka has worked in public education utilizing her knowledge of law and business to improve school operations and financial systems. Danneka currently serves as Director of Finance and Operations at Frederick A. Douglass High School and is the Board President of the Living School. She is the owner of Signed and Sealed, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in business startups and back-end operations for small and large businesses and schools. She and her husband have a ten year old son (Birdell III) and two fish. Danneka is a firm believer that a great education changes lives and she is committed to ensuring all kids have access to a high-quality, well-run school.
